What should I do if my AC stops cooling?
General advice
Check that the thermostat is set to Cool and below room temperature, and that its batteries work. Check the breaker for the AC, replace a dirty air filter, and make sure the outdoor unit isn’t blocked. If you see ice on the lines or coil, switch the system off and let it thaw. Don’t open electrical panels yourself. If it still isn’t cooling, request service.
